My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Jake. My six sibs and I were seven weeks old when we were abandoned in a Dollar Tree parking lot. We were scared and hiding under a car when we were rescued by a really nice young woman who took us home with her. We were in good shape, friendly, and social, and it was apparent we hadn’t spent much time outside before being rescued. The woman who found us couldn’t keep us and brought us to SBACC, and then we went to a foster home to get ready for our forever homes. I was the second smallest of my litter, and my sister Jewels and I became besties. My foster Mom says I’m a sweet, gentle boy full of purrs and play. I like to be picked up and held and can be a cuddly lap cat. I might be OK as an only kitten if I get lots of attention, but it would be more fun to go home with one of my sibs, maybe Jewels, or another kitten or young cat so that I will always have a playmate.

Dogs $150, Puppies under 6 months $225
Cats $75 over 5 years
Cats between 6 months-5 years $100

Dog adoptions include a written application and an on site interview. All family members, including other resident dogs, must meet the new dog.

The adoption process for cats and kittens includes:
A detailed application.
An interview with the potential adopter(s).
And a home visit, in some circumstances.

To ensure the best possible match for our cats and kittens, all applications are reviewed by our adoption committee and determination can take up to 48 hours.

We are an all-volunteer, no-kill, non-profit animal shelter formed in 1986 to find homes for the dogs, cats lost within our city limits. We are a California non-profit 501-C3 corporation # 33-0192138 so all donations are tax-deductible.
