Roo is an adorable DSH orange tabby male born approximately 8/1/2024.
"Hi, my name is Roo! My mom, Kanga, and I were found by a kind stranger in our makeshift home behind a store. Since we lived a wild life and learned to fend for ourselves, humans can make me a little nervous at first. But give me some treats and I’ll be your friend forever!
I’m an adventurer at heart, and I’m very curious to know what’s going on around me at all times, which sometimes gets me into some mischievous situations. Hunting toys is my favorite pastime. If I’m hidden away, bring out a small stuffed animal or a stick with ribbons and I will play for hours!
I have a very chill disposition and I don’t mind being picked up and carried around by the little humans in my house. I never bite or scratch - but I might run away! I’m also very vocal - I have the cutest little meows! I’m a sweet boy who would love to settle into my furever home!"
Roo is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.

Adopters must be 21 years or older and willing to invest the time and money required to care for a pet. In addition to providing love and attention, regular medical care is required. Please ask if you would like more information about veterinary fees and costs.
Our animals come from a variety of situations. Some have been dumped at shelters or vets, and many are ill or malnourished when rescued. Although the animal has been in a protected environment, there is the possibility of unrecognized illness appearing after an adoption is finalized, especially because of the stress the animal may experience during the first few days at its new home. We advise adopters of the animal's known history and provide its veterinary records, but frequently we know only what the animal chooses to tell us. We cannot make any guarantee regarding the long-term health of any animal. Adoption fees are generally not refundable unless prior arrangements are made.
If you feel that you are ready to adopt, please e-mail adoptions@nbcrtx.org for prompt attention. A NBCR adoption counselor will contact you to arrange an interview.
