Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Mrs. Gray Buttons is a gentle, reserved soul who takes a little time to warm up, but once she does, she becomes a wonderfully affectionate companion. She may be shy at first, preferring to observe her surroundings from a cozy spot, but her trust blooms with a patient touch. Mrs. Gray Buttons has a special love for headbutts, leaning in with her whole heart to show her affection. Chin scratches are her absolute favorite, melting her hesitations and bringing out her soft purr. She's especially fond of a wand toy that glides along the ground, sparking her curiosity and playful spirit.
Though she tolerates being picked up, Mrs. Gray Buttons prefers keeping her paws on solid ground, where she feels most comfortable. She's still a bit undecided about churu treats but enjoys other types of rewards and positive reinforcement. Her gentle personality makes her best suited to a quiet home with older kids who understand her shy nature and will give her the space she needs. With time and respect, Mrs. Gray Buttons will reveal her loving personality, making her a delightful addition to any family ready to embrace her on her own terms.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
