My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Moo! Moo is a 1.5 year old heeler mix who came from a shelter in Texas. While her past is a bit of a mystery, she's been given a second chance at life and she's making the most of it.
Moo has quickly adjusted to the good life and has become a champion couch potato. While she enjoys a walk around the neighborhood or a short hike, her favorite activity is snuggling in her dog bed.
Moo coexists wonderfully with other dogs and may feel more at home if she has a doggy sibling to show her the ropes, but she'd also be fine as an only pet child. She's so friendly with humans and loves to give 'hugs'. She'd prefer a home where her humans are home with her most of the day and a fenced yard so she can play outside.
Moo is house-trained and is working on crate-training. She's picked up on training quickly and already knows 'sit' and 'down'. If you're looking for a loving, easygoing companion, Moo might be the perfect girl for you!

Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete.

All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Moo's adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Moo, or another CAWS animal, please fill out an application here: http://caws.org/adoption-application. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationNovember 23, 2024, 6:34 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
