My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coconut is a true one-of-a-kind pup with a heart as big as his personality. Found as a stray, he’s left his tough days behind and is ready for a fresh start with a family who’ll treasure his unique charm. With his rare white coat and expressive eyes, Coconut is a standout—even in a crowd of pugs! At around 5 years old, he’s the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate sweetness, always ready to share a cuddle or chase after a toy.

Coconut’s ideal family would be as active and curious as he is. He loves his walks and any chance to explore new places, sniff new scents, and discover everything around him. His enthusiasm makes him a wonderful companion for outings, whether it's a park adventure or a simple neighborhood stroll. Coconut would do best in a home that can keep him engaged and excited about the world—he’s happiest when he’s got things to do and people to do them with! Playtime and mental stimulation are key for this spirited little guy.

Since coming to the rescue, Coconut has made amazing progress. He arrived with some skin issues from flea dermatitis, but with good care, he’s healing beautifully and feeling better every day. Coconut is friendly with other dogs and absolutely adores people. He thrives on human attention, and his affectionate, playful nature is infectious. If you’re looking for a lively, loving companion who’s got both charm and resilience, Coconut might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to be someone’s best friend—could that be you? More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
