This helps Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue with pet care costs.
Hi, my name is Brooks, and I am the cutest, most expressive puppy with the most adorable velvety soft floppy ears, long legs, and freckles too! All over! I came up with my siblings from New Mexico and we are used to being all together in a crate (I think at the shelter), so this whole house and yard thing is new to me!! In only one day, though, I am walking around the yard with my foster parents and foster brother dog on leash and doing OK. Everything is so new!!! I need help and guidance and a lot of patience because I'm just so new to all of this stuff. I had no idea you are supposed to go potty in designated outdoor areas, so I'm gonna need patience and guidance and maybe treat rewards to reinforce when I do that. Loud noises scare me, but when my foster mom sits with me on the floor I open up and love to snuggle with her. I love giving her kisses! I would definitely love a doggie sibling to help give me tips too. And to play with! I LOVE my food, and I eat every morsel. I know I will make a great dog companion once I build my confidence. Please consider me!
Brooks is fearful and skittish when it comes to people approaching him. It will take some time and trust and he will open up and build his confidence. Sudden movements and loud noises startle him, but he approaches once you get down to his eye level. He is food motivated which will help with his ongoing training. He has not had any potty training so that will be important to start with. We think he would do best with an older sibling to show him good habits. He is inquisitive and intelligent so we believe once he is taught with patience he will thrive. He really is a Love.
