My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Pepper was brought in by her previous owner. If you're interested in adopting, please email us at adoptoceanside@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number.

Why Pepper is the one for you:
Meet Pepper, a smart and loving girl who's ready to be your constant companion! Trustworthy and well potty-trained, Pepper is the definition of a loyal sidekick-she'll follow you around the house, always wanting to be near you. When it's time to relax, she'll wait patiently at a distance for an invitation to snuggle, and if you don't invite her, she'll subtly scoot closer over time, just to make sure you know she's still available. Pepper absolutely adores car rides, tug of war, and running around, making her a wonderful mix of playful and affectionate. She's mastered commands like "sit" and "hand," especially when food is involved. She'll try her best to stay by your side and is looking for a family who is home frequently and wants to spend time with her. She's not a candidate for being left alone in the backyard as she may try to escape to go track you down! Pepper is also looking for a home without other cats or dogs - she wants to be your main furry friend! In return for your companionship, Pepper will shower you with endless love and cuddles. She's looking for someone who will be there for her, just as she'll always be there for you. If you're ready for a smart, affectionate, and loyal best friend, Pepper is ready to fill your life with love and joy!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
