Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Ricky! This adorable pup has a great temperament, an inquisitive nature, and a sweet, friendly, and outgoing personality. While he can be a bit rambunctious at times, he is attentive to his people and will settle down fairly quickly when told playtime is over. Ricky loves meeting new people and is an affectionate and loyal companion. He has tested well with other dogs and has been confident enough to run & play with fun-loving dogs twice his size. It is unknown how he is with cats but, given his age, he probably would be ok with a slow & careful introduction.
As a chow-hound, Ricky has been very treat-motivated, which has made training a breeze. He already knows a couple of basic commands, like sit and come, and is eager to learn more. While he is still working on his house training, it shouldn't take him much longer before he graduates.
Like most puppies, he will thrive in a loving home dedicated to providing care, training, and socialization. Given his breed, he will do best with an active family or individual that will keep him engaged physically and mentally. If you're looking for a sweet companion to grow and learn with, Ricky could be the perfect match. If you would like to get more information about Ricky or arrange for a meet & greet, please submit an adoption interest application to the Humane Society of the North Bay using the following link: https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-application.
You should receive a confirmation email from HSNB if your application was successfully submitted. If you do not receive confirmation from us, please email adoptions@hsnb.org for assistance.

Additional adoption info
We test animals for the following:
Dogs: Good with other dogs, possibly cats, food aggression, walks on leash, noting any other attributes we may know.
Cats: Good with other cats, litter box trained, noting any other attributes we may know.
We cannot test if any animal is good with children. We may know if an animal is possibly house trained, but cannot guarantee any animal in the shelter is house trained. We do not know if a dog is good with cats unless we are advised by a person surrendering the animal. We may have an idea of this depending on how the dog reacts to our community cats that live on the property.
