Though Milo's scruffy charm might steal your heart at first glance, it's his endearing personality that'll make you want to keep him forever. Like the shy wallflower at the dance, Milo hangs back at first, but once he finds his rhythm, his peppy personality springs to life! Toys aren't his cup of tea either, because Milo's true passion lies in the company of other canines. His big eyes simply light up whenever he’s around other dogs. Milo will best suit a home with a predictable routine and older children that will give him the space he needs at first. Once he settles in, Milo becomes a devoted lap dog and the perfect companion for a dog in need of a playful friend. For a family seeking to add a faithful pup to their pack, Milo is the perfect pick to the max!

We process your application in the order received. We'll contact you through call or email.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Visit the facility via scheduled appt. and meet the the dog. If all seems like a good fit, the dog can go home on this day!

The application will come back up again during the final meet n greet, since check out and microchips rely on the same system where the applications are put in.

More about this rescue

Highland Lakes Canine Rescue was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by a group of folks who wanted to rescue homeless dogs from the Central Texas region and care for their health, rehabilitation and then to ultimately find these dogs a forever home uniting them with a newly adopted family. Initially HLCR started out as a foster only organization but over the 17 years has grown into it's own location with a kennel facility, outdoor pens, walking trails and staff and resident caretaker. An active and passionate group of staff and volunteers works tirelessly supporting HLCR and its mission.
