Say hello to Winston, a social and affectionate cat with a heart full of love! Once known as Mr. Boy, Winston was rescued from a truck yard in Compton. He is a friendly, outgoing guy who adores both people and other cats.

Winston loves nothing more than kneading on soft blankets, enjoying a good cuddle or playing with a catnip kicker toy. He's also a chatty companion who will keep you entertained with his sweet personality and loyal companionship.

Winston dreams of finding his forever home, where he can be the loving, playful companion you've been searching for. If you are ready for a cat who will bring endless joy and affection, Winston is waiting to meet you!

1.
Submit Application

We check our application portal daily. You can expect a response within 24 hours.

2.
Interview

After reviewing your application, we will call/text to conduct a phone/Zoom or Facetime interview.

3.
Meet the Pet

After a successful interview, we will get you connected with one of our foster families to schedule a meet and greet.

4.
Approve Application

After a successful meet and greet, you will be directed to our online platform to sign the contract and pay the $100-$200 adoption fee.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once the contract is signed and payment received, you may pick up your new best friend.

Our adoption process is designed with the pet and the family in mind. We look to make the process as easy and efficient as possible for our adopters, while also preserving the key safeguards that ensure we place our kitties with loving homes they can be sure to stay with forever. Sometimes we may ask for a virtual home visit via video or FaceTime to gain more insight into what kind of kitty will best fit your lifestyle and environment.

Paws in the Sand Cat Rescue is a foster based rescue, so all of our adoptable cats reside with their foster families who are located across Orange and LA counties. We have a kitty for every family and locale, so we will work to match you with a feline friend who matches both your lifestyle, needs and location.

We have adoption events at Pets Plus in Long Beach on Bellflower Blvd as well as the Culver City location. Those events will be announced via our social media.

Paws in the Sand Cat Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of cats in Southern California. Our mission is to rescue cats from high-kill shelters, and rehome abandoned cats, giving them a second chance at life. In addition to rescue and rehoming, we are passionately committed to supporting community cats through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) services. This humane approach reduces the number of unwanted kittens and promotes healthier cat colonies. By partnering with local shelters, veterinarians and our local community, we aim to create a safer environment for all cats. At Paws in the Sand, we believe every cat deserves a chance.
