Here's what the humans have to say about me:
---POSSIBLE THERAPY DOG---
Meet 10 month old, 23-lb BOB who was hit by a car and has already had 3 surgeries to repair both upper leg bones. Fortunately, we scored an excellent, experienced medical foster home who has nursed BOB back to a healthy condition and socialized him, so he is ready for his furever home. His furever family just needs to know that he will have some physical limitations. BOB needs to gain strength and endurance which will come in time. He will never be a working dog.
From the foster mom's perspective, BOB is a super smart, absolute charmer! He loves a lot of attention. He bonded quickly with her and has become a velcro dog. He's still skittish around strangers (especially men). He will let you know when he needs to go outside or hungry or just wants some cuddle time.
BOB is great with cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits...all kinds of animals. He is scared of the cows.
BOB has a gentle mouth (never nips) and shows no food or other resource reactivity with animals or people. Unfortunately, BOB is not good with small children. He will hide from them.
BOB is house-trained and crate-trained (it is his safe place). He has been trained to stay off of furniture. He has been taught to walk beside his handler even without a leash.
BOB can only run for short periods; he seems to hurt the rest of the day. Foster mom lets him soak in their mini hot tub and has found that it helps him with the aches.
BOB does not like going for rides in vehicles. He seems to have PTSD about it (shaking/peeing on himself).
Foster mom believes that BOB would make a really good therapy dog because he seems to have a lot of empathy when someone is sad or lonely.
So BOB isn't perfect...if BOB doesn't get your attention or if he is left free in the house while you do an errand, he will make his presence known. He developed an odd habit of climbing up on couch to pee or poo even though he has access to the outdoors. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZTYy9c3139nDxnSu6

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise.
