Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cardinal – The Sweet & Shy Fox-Like Pup Looking for Love!
Cardinal has been waiting far too long for a home to call his own! This 35-lb sweetheart has spent time up north learning about country life and is now back in Jerome, Idaho, hoping for his chance at a foster or forever home.
With his striking eyes and fox-like appearance, we believe Cardinal could have Shiba Inu or a similar breed in his mix. He’s affectionate, playful, and loves being around other dogs. He also does well on car rides—though he may get a little excited at first! Note: He has not had a DNA test for breed specifics so the breeds listed are based on observations, temperament, and Google image search breed suggestions.
Cardinal has shown he can handle busy environments, even remaining well-mannered around another dog at a local park. He walks nicely on a leash but can be a little shy about the slip lead going over his head. We also believe he may do well with cats given the proper introductions.
This boy has so much love to give (he loves to give kisses)—he needs a family! His adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, neuter, health exam, rabies vaccine, microchip, and ongoing support.

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise.
