Meet Wilbur, a charming adult dog with a heart full of love. Despite his shy demeanor, he's incredibly sweet and playful, always ready to engage in a fun game of fetch or simply snuggle up by your side. Wilbur's past may have been challenging, as he was found dumped in the woods and malnourished in South Mississippi, but his resilience and zest for life are truly inspiring. He has made an amazing recovery and is now healthier and happier than ever. Wilbur's endearing personality makes him the perfect companion. His gentle nature and playful spirit would brighten up any home. Wilbur is more than just a pet, he's a friend who will love unconditionally and bring joy to your life. The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012 in Wiggins, MS. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).
