My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at Woodbridge High School (1 Samuel Lupo Pl, Woodbridge, NJ 07095) from 11am - 3pm.

Hi, I'm Barstow, but my friends call me Bowie! I'm a 20-pound, 3-year-old Terrier mix, and I can't wait to find my forever family.

I'm a friendly guy, though I can be a little cautious at first. Once I warm up, I'm all about love and companionship! I've lived with dogs my size and even much bigger ones, so I get along well with other pups. I'd do great in a family with older kids who understand my gentle, playful nature.

I've already mastered the big stuff-house training and crate training are in the bag! I'm happy to hang out in my crate when my human is away or sleeping, but if I could have it my way, I'd love to be out and about with you whenever you're home.

Leaving the only family I've ever known was tough, but it didn't change who I am. I'm still the same sweet, loving, and playful dog I've always been. My loyal nature means I'm ready to be your best friend for life.

What I want most is a home where I can keep growing, learning, and sharing my joy with a new family. I know my forever home is out there, and I'm so excited to meet you. Are you the one for me?

Barstow is currently being fostered in Eatontown, NJ. His adoption fee is $500.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
