My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fanta! As orange as the soda he shares a name with, Fanta is a darling of a kitty with a sweet disposition and a personality that will melt your heart.

Fanta likes to spend his day sitting by the window taking in the sights and sounds. If you're quiet, you might catch the adorable little noises he makes, or his gentle purrs.

Fanta is playful, and would love to engage with you. He likes pets a lot, even if he seems a little shy at first. An absolute sweetheart, he'll even let you pet his belly and rub his paws. There are also tons of toys he'll gladly play with. Bounce a laser around to wear him out, or give him a catnip pillow or another felt toy. He'll be delighted!

When he gets worn out, you'll find Fanta napping belly up without a care in the world.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
