My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear is a 4-year-old Border Collie with a heart as big as his smarts! This brilliant, kind, and loving dog is ready to charm his way into your life with his friendly nature and impeccable manners. Bear adores everyone he meets—humans and dogs alike—and thrives on playtime, especially games of fetch with balls, kongs, and toy bones.

Bear is a superstar when it comes to training. He knows commands like sit, stay, wait, down, come, place, and even "bedtime"! He’s fantastic on leash, only barks to alert you of a knock at the door (and stops promptly when told), and is completely potty trained. He’s also non-destructive, making him an all-around amazing companion.

Bear does have Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, which is managed with a special diet and medication he takes easily. This doesn’t slow him down one bit—he’s always up for a long walk or an adventure with his people.

If you’re looking for a brilliant, affectionate, and playful companion, Bear might just be your perfect match!

More about this rescue

Founded by Vivian Goldbloom in 2013, Emerald City Pet Rescue exists to rescue abused, neglected, and homeless animals from high-volume shelters around the country.

We pride ourselves on providing the best medical care possible for our rescued animals and rehabilitating hard-to-adopt animals to help them increase their chances of finding loving homes.

Our screening process includes meet and greets, reference checks, and a visit to the potential owner’s home to ensure the home and family are compatible with the pet’s needs and our requirements. We do everything we can to ensure that loving homes are found for these amazing pets.

Emerald City Pet Rescue is run by dedicated staff and volunteers who give their time and resources to house, train, rehabilitate, and care for our animals. Above all else, we truly believe that Love Can Save Lives.
