My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tony!

Tony came to the BC SPCA Kelowna Centre from Dog Control so we don't know a ton about his history. He is now here awaiting a new family who will give him the love, companionship and security he's wants and so deserves. We know nothing of his background but we are happy to share what we have learned in the short time he's been with us. He is sweet guy who is chatty, playful and active. He loves to be right by your side and can be quite the cuddly boy. Tony knows some basic commands such as "sit" and "come", but he is still young and will need to strengthen those skills which would be a bonding experience with his new guardian. Although is a strong boy, he has excellent leash walking skills. He likely would do best in an adult only household due to his strength. We are confident he will quickly become a great faithful, fun loving companion, and yes, your new walking partner.

If you're looking for a canine companion who will fill your life with joy, Tony is ready to bring his warmth and affection into your home. We can see Tony and you walking down life's adventure road together.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
