My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Florence, a charming and sweet-natured female calico with a heart as beautiful as her thick coat. Her gentle demeanor and affectionate nature make her an absolute joy to be around. She loves curling up in cozy spots and would love a calm, quiet home. Florence came to us when her owner sadly passed away. We don't know much about her history other than she was likely indoor only and did not have a lot of visitors. Florence prefers a tranquil atmosphere and would not do well with young children. If you're searching for a loyal and sweet senior to brighten your home, Florence could be the perfect match for you. She's ready to share her love and bring warmth to a forever home!

Florence is currently awaiting a dental surgery and will be ready to go home officially once it is completed. If you are interested in adopting, you can inquire at the Kamloops Branch during open hours or apply online at the link below.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
