This wiggly gal is sure to put a smile on your face- we pinky promise! Pinky is a sweet and affectionate lady who finds herself a bit insecure in the loud shelter environment. She's very handler oriented and looks to her human for comfort!
Pinky was found as a stray and stayed with her finder for a few weeks then was brought to the shelter. She is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet her any day from 10am-6pm.

Behavior:
Per Volunteer 11/19/24:
Pinky was very easy for leashing! She was a bit hesitant walking through the kennels because there were a lot of people standing around including a cameraman but she did great! She came to me for comfort- she seems very handler oriented. Nervous lady and was shaking when we first got to the play room. I sat down and she immediately came to me for pets, putting her paws up on me and giving me kisses. Scared of the shelter but very comfortable with her handler. She takes treats very gently and knows sit! She didn’t seem to care about toys very much. Pretty jumpy in an effort to be close to you! No issues returning to her kennel
Per Staff 11/19/24:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Pinky was standing at the front with soft eyes, mid level wags. She umped on the door but then hopped back down when the handler opened to leash her. Remained relaxed and wiggly, patient for leashing and exited without issue.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally, housebroken
HANDLING:
In the room Pinky was well mannered and had relaxed body language. She was social with all three handlers and would come up often to solicit attention. When petting her she had soft eyes, low wags, and would curl up closely to her handler. She was tolerant of full body petting without issue. She took teats gently and showed knowledge of sit.
PLAY:
Engaged in play
TOYS:
Some interest
COLOR LEVEL & ANY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Blue, due to owner notes
Per Staff 11/16/24:
Pinky did okay for her dog meet today, but showed a lot of confliction and fear at times. Pinky was nervous walking through the kennel building, and needed some encouragement to walk by dogs barking at her and people. During her dog meet she initially had a good butt sniff with the other dog, but when the dog turned around for a face sniff she froze and lunged in with teeth bared at the dog's face. It was hard to tell whether she was going in to snap or try to initiate play, as the handler who could see her face said she "looked playful". Pinky was nonreactive to the other dog, and could coexist near them without issue, but when they would get face to face she would be very forward and would lunge in with nips right at the dog's face. We did a little walk along and she got less forward and stopped lunging for the other dog. I think she would need very slow intros to doggie friends, and might do best as a single dog in the home, as her behaviors would likely escalate to a fight with a less tolerant dog.
Per Staff 11/16/24:
Pinky was very sweet in kennel, soft eyes and softly wagging tail. She came up to the front of the kennel when I called her, and sniffed my hand gently. She seemed very scared of all the noises in the kennel.
