My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I lived with children in my previous home.

I have lived with cats.

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

Need some biscuits for your breakfast? I'm an expert kneader!

My purr motor is always running!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

Charlie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention and allows all petting, but did not appear to like being picked up during their behavior evaluation. He struggled to get down when pick up was attempted. Please keep in mind there are many reasons why a cat may be uncomfortable with this type of handling and that this may not necessarily translate into a home environment. We recommend that he go to a home with adopters with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in not being comfortable with pickup. Any future home with children should be counseled in respecting the cat's space and for the family to use care when picking him up, especially while they're adjusting to their new home.

Mellow, shy, sweet, curious-that's Charlie in a nutshell! He came to the Care Center because his previous person could no longer afford his care. But they let us know what an awesome boy he is, including that he plays gently with children, gets on with other cats and even the resident dog, enjoys string toys and catnip, and liked to sleep at the foot of his former owner's bed. In the cat adoption room his shy side has emerged, but after a little sweet talk his natural confidence come through and he allowed pettings and even a pick-up. Charlie is a very good boy whose world has been turned upside down. But it hasn't stopped this charmer from engaging with humans and hoping hard that he'll have a new forever home any day now. How about yours?
