My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! Oh, I feel like I'm on one of those dating apps. Ahem. I'm Flair, I'm about 3 years old and have the most bubbly personality as well as a heart full of love.

I'm always excited to meet new friends, both furry and human. I'm potty-trained and have excellent manners on a leash-I walk nicely without pulling and never try to
run off. When it comes to other dogs, I'm non-reactive and polite; I am a lady, after all.

Whether it's a high energy home or a more relaxed environment, I adapt well. My playgroup pals will tell you that I am gentle and dainty young lady, but I love having fun. Sometimes, I do get a bit excited and may jump or bark for attention, but I respond to gentle redirection.

I just so want to find my forever home. I'm a sweet and gentle girl who wants to spread some love and happiness.

Additional adoption info

At Best Friends, we pride ourselves on our open adoptions policy. Open adoptions means that anyone 18 years of age or older is able to adopt from us on a first come, first served basis. Interested adopters will submit an adoption survey form and the adoption team will arrange a virtual meeting with the pet so we can help with match making. During the meet & greet, the adopter asks questions about the pet, the foster showcases the amazing qualities of their foster pet, and the adoption team provides medical information, advises on the adoption process, and coordinates next steps. Virtual meet & greets are available seven days a week.

All of our adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, have received age-appropriate vaccines, and dogs over 6 months have been tested for heartworm disease. Our adoption fees, which are listed below, go directly back to the lifesaving work being done across the nation by Best Friends Animal Society to help the next animal in need.

· $100 for dogs six months and older

· $150 for puppies under six months old

· $50 for adult cats six months old and older

· $100 for kittens under six months

Go meet their pets

Virtual meet & greets are available seven days a week. In-person meet & greets for puppies and adult dogs can be scheduled after the initial virtual meeting.

For those who prefer to meet multiple pets in person, we recommend attending one of our events! Best Friends in Houston hosts multiple adoption events every month where interested adopters can meet pets and take them home that same day. Some events are at Best Friends in Houston; other events are off-site. Please follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/bfastx Instagram @bfas_houston or check out our website to view upcoming events.

We also have adoption ready cats and kittens at Pet Supermarket located at 16000 Stuebner Airline Rd Ste C, Spring, TX 77379. These pets can be adopted any time Pet Supermarket is open, no appointment needed.

More about this rescue

Best Friends in Houston works collaboratively with city shelters, local animal welfare organizations and passionate individuals to save the lives of pets in shelters in Houston and the surrounding areas.

To guide this work and help Houston become a no-kill city for cats and dogs, Best Friends launched the Coalition to Save Houston’s Pets in April of 2018 followed by a Community Cat Program, foster programs for dogs and cats, local adoption programs and an out of state transport program.

At this time, all of our animals are currently residing in foster homes. Our office is used for fostering & adoptions by appointment only. The adoptions process will start by submitting a meet-and-greet form.

If you have any questions about adopting, please email us at HoustonAdoption@bestfriends.org or call us at (832) 342-9411. The adoption team is available from 9am to 6pm seven days a week.
