My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bigfoot!

Now we know we claim that a lot of our cats are “hunks” but really, this one takes the cake!

Bigfoot was found when one of our team members was one their way home from a big trapping adventure and came across Bigfoot running across a street, kind of like a real life urban Bigfoot! She pulled over and tried to get our guy to come to her but, at first, he kept his distance- running away and rolling all over the ground over and over. Finally, after a few minutes, Bigfoot let his walls down and came running over and began rubbing all over her. Our team member was able to scoop Bigfoot up easily and off he went on to his path of a new inside life!

Bigfoot really is a dream guy. He may not like walks on the beach or have opposable thumbs to buy you flowers, but he will definitely let you know how loved you are. Bigfoot absolutely loves to snuggle and cuddle! He is a good communicator in a way that he’ll meow to you to let you know his food dish is empty. Bigfoot realllyyyy loves his food (wet and dry) so keeping up with measured out meals is a must for him to ensure he doesn’t get overweight. This guy is a big solid man with a medium-long hair coat that he loves to have brushed. Bigfoot likes to look at the window and also really enjoys naps. Now, he can be a little shy at first but he warms up very quickly! We think he may have been a ladies man on the streets but he really is looking for his one true love (and home) to be with forever! We think that Bigfoot would be ok with other cats, maybe ones that are a little laid back like himself. He may also be ok with calmer dogs after proper intros and kids of all ages who can respect his space when needed. Please remember he is a bit hefty in stature, so any kids that are really small may be subjected to some big-cat cuddles!

The vet placed Bigfoot at approximately 4 years old and so far has appeared to have a clean bill of health. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FELV tested negative, dewormed, and flea treated. If you’re looking for your very own perfect hunk of a man, look no further than Bigfoot!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
