My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chupacabra AKA Chupie is dressed for the occasion with his sleek grey coat and tuxedo markings. He is a shy boy who gets startled with quick movements and new situations. However, he has come such a long way! He went from being a scared hissy boy to a brave purry gentleman! He DOES wear a tuxedo after all. He is becoming more and more accepting of unsolicited pets and starts to purr almost immediately.

Chupie is very food motivated so having treats on hand will make him your best friend in no time. He is very bonded to his brother, Bowie. When they are separated for too long, the brother left behind will begin to cry. They have an adorable sibling relationship and often walk side-by-side and rub on each other while they are walking. They are often caught grooming each other too! Chupacabra LOVES toys. He has a lot of catnip mice that he loves to carry and swat around. He is a sucker for a good wand toy, too.

With a confident and patient adopter with snacks, Chupacabra will be a happy guy in your home in no time. Chuppie is estimated to be about five months old. He is neutered, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Please apply to adopt him (and Bowie) today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
