My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💔 Nado: A Sweet Soul Searching for Love 💔

Meet Nado, a 2-year-old cockapoo with the kindest eyes and the softest heart. Right now, Nado is being treated for kennel cough, so he can't meet any doggy friends just yet. But he's absolutely ready to meet you - his future human best friend. 🐾

His sad eyes say it all: Nado just wants a home where he can feel safe and loved. He has the potential to get along with other dogs, but for now, he's dreaming of cuddles, gentle walks, and all the love he's been missing.

Let's make those sad eyes sparkle again!

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
