My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here comes the cookie monster- Oreo!

He's black and white and cute all over-it's our pal Oreo! This young boy is barely one year old and ready to embark on life's newest adventure! Oreo is very well-socialized with people and has great manners. Though we're still getting to know him, Oreo appears to be okay around the other dogs he sees on walks and would love a meet-and-greet with your dog!

Oreo was found as a lost dog and when we located his owner they unfortunately never came to reclaim him. He is looking for a new start to wash away those sad memories. Meet Oreo at our shelter in Tinton Falls, NJ

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
