Brooklyn was found running loose as a stray with a few other dogs, super skinny but otherwise okay. Now, she’s looking for her forever home where she can thrive and continue to build her confidence.
Brooklyn is good with children of all ages, adults, seniors, and small dogs. While she hasn’t been tested with cats, the other dogs she was found with were good with them, so there is a possibility she maybe cat-friendly too. She can be a bit cautious at first, but she warms up with a little time and reassurance.
This playful girl loves toys and has a goofy, shy side. She may not do well with bigger or very dominant dogs but plays wonderfully with dogs that match her energy. She stands up for herself and would benefit from some basic training and confidence building. Brooklyn’s sweet nature shines through, especially when she’s around small kids – she loved the young children of her finder.
Brooklyn is crate trained and uses a doggy door to go potty outside. She gets crated when her foster parents leave, when she eats, and at night in the bedroom. She adapted quickly to the routine, although she did whine a bit the first couple of days. Now, she’s got it all figured out.
While Brooklyn loves playing with other dogs, she would also be fine as an only dog. She enjoys the company of her humans and would thrive in a home where people are in and out throughout the day. She doesn’t like being crated all day but is perfectly content sleeping in her crate at night.
Brooklyn is a sweet, loving girl who needs a patient adopter who understands her initial timidity. With a bit of training and a lot of love, she’ll make a wonderful companion for any family, especially one with kids.
Brooklyn is from Texas.
