My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All AHHS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Meet Mick, the scruffiest little love! He's a 2-year-old terrier/dachshund mix. He weighs in at only 14 pounds, so he is the perfect small size! Aside from being obviously adorable, Mick is quite the charmer! Everyone he meets just melts for him. Mick is 2 years old, has been neutered, and is housetrained! He's spunky and enjoys playing, but he isn't a dog that requires constant exercise. This would be the PERFECT small home/apartment companion. To learn more about Mick or to set up a meeting, please email Halee@ahhumanesociety.org and apply online at ahhumanesociety.org.

More about this rescue

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. We do not receive public or government funding, and no monies from national humane organizations or county, state or federal government funds. Our work depends solely on grants, fundraisers, adoptions, private funding, memberships and donations. The fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing an animal for placement into a new home. We value every animal equally and consider all to be priceless
