Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Name, age, breed: Brandy, 7m, Australian Shepard mix
Likes: loves loves loves cuddling — once she is put into a spot to cuddle, she will stay there as long as possible. Enjoys playing outside, and seems to have more confidence in outdoors spaces rather than indoors. She is currently being fostered with her sister and she loooves her, so we’d imagine she likes living with another dog.
Dislikes: new spaces are scary, new pals are also scary at first but she comes around once she has a positive experience (ex. Shy around people but loooove being pet).
What would be the ideal home? Somewhere with lots of access to outdoor space. Since she gains confidence being around another dog, maybe would be better with a playful dog who needs a pal - not a must, but might be nice.
Good with other cats? Neutral towards cats
Good with dogs? Meets with caution, but likes them if they’re nice to her.
Good with children? Yes
Temperament: she’s a sweet and timid girl who looove her people and pup pals
Motivators? Treats! And loves being praised
Any commands? Still learning
House trained? Still learning
Crate trained? Yes, but only with another dog so solo crating might need breaking in.
How long will it take to settle into a new environment? Possibly a month or so
Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Brandy did have a traumatic encounter with a dog while at the shelter, therefore she is cautious when meeting new dogs. However has become friends with a handful of new medium and big sized dogs while in foster care and has come out of her shell quite a bit. Continuing with more positive socializing would be beneficial for her.
