My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Odie is 3 years old and about 20 pounds.  Yes he looks like a big guy, but he is just a really tall Chihuahua with an underbite and a big heart!  He loves all the things that little terriers do- cuddles, treats, shaking the stuffin out of his toys, chewing on a Benebone, playing fetch and not bringing the ball back, cuddles, head tilts, running,  jumping and rolling in the leaves.  Did I mention cuddles? Odie’s favorite place to be is in your lap and has been caught watching TV.  He is doing great with housebreaking and thrives on a schedule, because he is a busy little man and sometimes forgets.  Odie sleeps in his crate through the night and likes dogs his size and smaller, big dogs and puppy energy are scary!  Odie is not the kind of dog that will need lots of exercise or walks, he is content with you, maybe a yard to chase a ball and explore.  Did you notice his white tip on his tail?  Yea, neither did I!  His tail is always wagging and is just the happiest little guy that kicks his leg when you find his itchy spot on his belly.  If you want to play connect the dots on Odie’s chin freckles, please fill out an application to meet him today!

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
