Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Four-year-old Piney was found alone in the woods, starving and struggling to survive. When we found her, she was emaciated, desperately eating whatever she could find just to fill her empty stomach. Life hadn't been kind to her, but through patience, care, and love, Piney has begun to trust again.
Now, Piney is ready for the next chapter - a home where she'll never feel hunger or fear again.
She's a sweet, resilient girl with so much love to give. Piney has the potential to get along with other dogs, but slow introductions are key. She deserves a family who will continue to show her what it means to feel safe and loved. Piney has come so far, but her story isn't over. Could you be the one to give her the happy ending she's been waiting for?
Apply in person at our Lacey location or online at ahscares.org/adopt Primary Color: Black Weight: 59.2 Age: 4yrs 1mths 2wks

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
