**Local Family Provides Shelter for Stray Cat Family**

Last month, a local family discovered a mama cat and her five kittens huddled on their doorstep. Though unable to bring them inside due to their senior cat, the family quickly stepped into action, crafting a cozy shelter out of a cooler equipped with a heating pad. A waterproof cover keeps the feline family warm and dry, but with colder weather setting in, the family is growing concerned about keeping them safe.

Feeding the cats twice daily and ensuring they have fresh water, the family has also been working to earn the trust of their timid guests. "They don’t seem feral,” a family member said. “Mama and most of the kittens let us pet them.”

The family plans to pay for the kittens’ vaccinations and check-ups to make future adoptions easier but has yet to corral them for the vet visit. "We just want to give them the best chance at a furever home." Until then, the furry visitors remain a part of this household's extended family.
