My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEET & FUN NATURED:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 26 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Penny!  I had a home, but – unfortunately – my previous owner lost their home, and could not take me with them given their circumstances.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts is my hero, and they have welcomed me with open arms and are going to find a great new home for me!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with another dog friend but haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! My former owner reported that I liked some dogs. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but my former owner reported that I liked the kids I met while I was with them though I don’t recall their ages. So, if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m pretty new to Mostly Mutts, but so far, the volunteers report that I’m super sweet and a fun dog!  / My former owner said that I had a high energy level, but I don’t think it’s super high.  Since I’m new here, we can’t quite tell my energy level yet, so check back on that.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  My former owner reported that I knew the ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ commands, so those will be tested with me soon. / My crate manner have been good at Mostly Mutts. / My former owner reported that I was potty trained, and my potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule,  so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: In my previous home, I enjoyed going out in the yard with the other dog and with my family, so we could run around and have some fun together!  I have a fun and sweet nature, so I’m sure we’ll discover all sorts of things we like doing together! / I can’t think of any dislikes yet but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I came in with a little dry flaky skin on my back side and I may have a flea allergy, so please keep me on a flea preventative.  I’m getting medicated baths for a little while and these can easily be done in my new home. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I’m a super sweet girl looking for a super sweet family to love! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
