My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Benji the wonder boy. Benji is bi-lingual and has been through thorough board and train and ready for his forever home.

Benji is all "heeler" in his personality. He's very sweet but definitely gives off that old farm dog vibe. He likes to just hang out and is down to explore anytime. He doesn't say no to an adventure. He's been exposed to cats, dogs, chickens, mules and children. While he hasn't been exposed to large play groups of dogs, he's neutral to any dogs around him.

He's currently in a foster him and has been around kids (age 6 and 16). He's happy to just hang out around him but it's always important that kids know proper dog etiquette so they don't overwhelm him and stress him out - especially in a new environment. Benji can be a tad bit shy sometimes, but loves being pet and getting attention. Generally, he's laid back and gets the occasional zoomies. Benji is on the lower end of mid-level energy and even that depends on the time of day. He's not very hyper, at all.

His professional training has mainly focused on overall good manners and obedience. Coming when called, sit, stay, proper leash walking, crate training, and waiting at doors/boundaries are things we work daily. Our goal with him was to make him an all around nice pet for someone to have and enjoy. While he won't go winning any obedience competitions, his obedience is great for a pet and is very functional.See more pics at www.flyingbrescue.org/adopt

More about this rescue

Flying B Animal Rescue & Sanctuary was founded in honor of my husband Tom Baker who passed away in 2023 from pancreatic cancer. Tom understood my profound love of animals and wanted me to follow my dream to start an animal rescue - so here we are.

Flying B provides rescue, shelter, and rehabilitation for abandoned animals in the Ellis County and surrounding areas.
