My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Odin: Your future cuddle buddy

Odin is a gentle 6 year old Belgian Malinois in search of a loving forever home. This sweet boy has a heart full of love and a personality that shines brightest when he is surrounded by those who care for him.

Odin gets along wonderfully with cats and other dogs, making him the perfect addition to a multi-pet household.

While Odin tends to be better with female adults, he warms up quickly to anyone that shows him kindness. He has been learning to trust male adults in his new foster home.

He has medium drive, loves car rides and is very intelligent according to his foster mom. His favorite pastime? Snuggling with his humans, enjoying some quality time together.

*100% Velcro dog

*Per his foster, once he is adjusted to his new home, his off-switch allows him to be left alone, uncrated, for multiple hours if needed.

*Needs a slow introduction to new dogs because he can get "overwhelmed" with a lot of new things. Does better with female dogs or neutral male dogs.

*Low energy - Medium prey drive. Odin's foster mom says he has a wonderful "off switch" inside the house, but loves to play hard when outside.

Odin is an excellent leash walker, making outings a breeze. He loves exploring quiet neighborhoods and walks at a leisurly pace.

More about this rescue

Mission Statemet
Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. (MAD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is dedicated to rescuing Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds who have found themselves without a home (surrendered, discarded, abused, neglected or impounded). MAD does not have a physical location and is operated by compassionate, like-minded professionals who volunteer their time and resources to help save and care for the Malinois and Dutch Shepherds. All animals that are accepted by MAD are spayed or neutered, given medical attention and rehabilitation, as needed, and placed with foster homes until their health and evaluations are completed and they are ready to be placed in their loving permanent homes.
