My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Detroit resident was walking his dog when he stopped to place his dog's poop in a garbage can. That's when he saw this cute little nugget of delight. He brought kitty to our shelter immediately. Kitty was filthy and scared but very sweet.

Fast forward to now!

Alucard is a chill dude who wants to observe everything. He loves cuddles, treats, and playtime. Whenever he’s happy, his little tongue blep comes out. He is a sweet boy who gets along with other kitties and can’t wait to meet you!

Once you submit an application, one of our dedicated adoption volunteer coordinators will contact you.

Meet the Pet

Some of our kitties are in foster homes and about 40 are at our shelter. So be patient! We may have to schedule a visit at a foster home.

3.
Approve Application

The volunteer adoption coordinator will call your veterinary reference and your personal references. Video home visit too!

At any given time, Ferndale Cat Shelter has at least 150-250 cats and kittens in our care. Most of those kitties are in foster homes while 40-50 may be at our shelter. We love to make the purrfect match for you so you and your kitty will live long and healthy lives together.
