Petri is a lovely 5-month-old kitten who's a little shy but has a lot of love to give! She's still learning to trust humans and come out of her shell, but with patience and understanding, she'll make a wonderful companion. Petri loves to chase wand toys and would thrive in a home with another playful, but not overly rambunctious, kitten. She enjoys gentle petting, especially when she's relaxing in her bed. It's important to know that Petri prefers to be picked up by supporting her tummy, not her front legs. She can get a little startled if picked up incorrectly. This sweet girl appreciates a calm environment and a patient family who will let her adjust at her own pace. Could that be you?🧡🐱

For In-Person Adoptions at the Shelter, visit during open hours. For pets in foster care, apply on that pet at www.multcopets.org

Meet the Pet

At the shelter, adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.

3.
Take the Pet Home

Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adoptions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adopters will not be able to submit applications to adopt animals in advance, or place adoption holds on animals.

Adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.
We will be unable to assist with pet-to-pet meets. Please keep your furry friends at home, adoptable pets will not be able to meet resident pets at the shelter.
Prepare enough time for your visit. Adopters should expect that it may be up to two (2) hours at the shelter to process an adoption, including meeting pets, an adoption consultation, and waiting periods. Wait times may be significantly longer on weekends.

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is the only open door shelter in Portland. We are the primary agency responsible for lost pet care, animal abuse investigations and animal rescue in Multnomah County. We also offer dog and cat licensing, lost and found pet services, and animal adoptions through our shelter in Troutdale. MCAS is a division of the Multnomah County Department of Community Services (DCS).
