Reason for Foster: URI/Calicivirus
Foster Time Frame: 2 Weeks
Foster Care Plan: This kitty has calicivirus, a common upper respiratory condition in cats. While it’s treatable with supportive care, some cats may carry the virus even after they’re no longer sick. This means they might occasionally shed the virus, though they often stay symptom-free. Calicivirus is contagious to other cats, so it’s best if they’re fostered away from other felines, or with cats who are already vaccinated.
Uno will go home with medication and will have a recheck appointment with the medical team to determine when he is ready to move forward to his neuter surgery and then adoption.
Foster to Adopt Program: Uno is available through our Foster to Adopt program, which allows pets awaiting or undergoing medical treatment to be placed with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption.
