My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! We're Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell but you can call us Goldie and Kurt! We were rescued from a hoarding situation in Contra Costa County.

How cute are we?! Well according to our foster human and every other human who has met us, we’re the cutest! But wait, there’s more… we have winning purrsonalities too! We’re confident, curious, gentle, affectionate and playful.

We immediately explored our foster home side by side when we first arrived. We had lots of new things to check out and we were ready and willing to get started. While exploring we came across toys and immediately knew we were going to have lots of fun here. We enjoy playing with toys but we also love to chase each other and create our own wrestling matches. Our playtime antics always make humans laugh.

Yes, we love each other very, very much but we also love human companionship and we aren’t shy about asking for attention. Pets? Kisses? Cuddles? We’re ready for them all and will purr to let you know how much we love them. Even when you’re sleeping at night, we’ll be on the bed with you so we’re there to say good morning when you wake up.

I'm certainly making the most of my nine lives. Soon after I was rescued, I developed an upper respiratory infection that was treated but I didn’t seem to be fully recovering from it. I then lost my appetite and after several veterinary visits, including to the ER, the doctors determined I had FIP. Fortunately, the treatment is now available so the rescue was able to have their vet prescribe it for me. After 84 days of treatment and another 84 days of observation that began after my final treatment, I’m ready for adoption. I'm officially a FIP survivor! YAY!

We have the biggest hearts with lots of love to give to our forever family! We’re two peas in a pod and will bring lots of laughs and love to our forever home.

You can see more of us in our foster home here @purrfect_purrminators.

More about this rescue

Every day adult and senior cats with treatable medical and behavioral conditions are euthanized. GIVE ME SHELTER's goal is to rescue these cats from certain death and place them into loving permanent homes.
GMS is a registered 501(c)3 organization and is dedicated to helping stop the overpopulation of unwanted and abandoned cats. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are committed to bettering the life of adult cats who no longer have a home to call their own. Every time you adopt from us, you allow us to save another cat that would have otherwise died. We receive new cats into our system almost every week. Our website is constantly being updated, so please check back often!
