My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there! The name's Steve! I am a happy little fellow that is looking forward to meeting lots of new people that might want to adopt me! I was picked up by Animal Control as I strolled down a street not too far from the shelter. I guess I was trying to make my way here! Anyway I was never claimed and now I am up for adoption. I am a five-year-old terrier mix. I have all of my vaccinations, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. One problem did show up on my health check up. It seems that I am heartworm positive. Do I look worried? Nawww..I'm not! I know the shelter will walk me right through this and on to a great new home! Come see me!! FYI...I have spent some time with a foster and she said that I was sweet, content to lay at your feet, I was fine with her kids and cats, and I only weigh about twenty-five pounds! I know I could make you happy if I joined you family!

Additional adoption info

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.
