My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Maya, an 8-month-old female Lab mix, 28 lbs and I was rescued from a hoarding situation in Houston Texas. All of us were dirty, crawling with fleas, and feeling pretty miserable, so 4 Little Paws Rescue brought several of us to San Antonio so we could live in foster homes while receiving wonderful care, getting vaccines, chips, spays, or neuters, with time to make friends and have some fun in the process. These days I’m feeling great and I am more than ready to find the life I deserve!

My foster mom says I’m a great girl with no rescue dog baggage. I am friendly and sweet to everyone I meet, make friends easily, and am never shy. I have gobs of energy for playing and running, and my favorite game is tug-o-war. I’ll hop on 2 feet for doggy treats and I really don't bark unless everyone else does then I’ll join in. I am affectionate, snuggly, and kissy, and I will actually ditch playtime to get some snuggles and kisses. I’m doing great with housebreaking, great on leash walking, and I enjoy looking out the window while on a car ride. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet girl like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started! Inquire about me today and bring me home!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
