My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Cookie and I’m a pretty female Chihuahua mix about 3 years old, 18 lbs, and I was a stray dog in San Antonio Texas, living on the street with my 6 puppies when 3 of them were hit and killed by a car. Thankfully, some nice people picked up the rest of us and reached out to 4 Little Paws Rescue for help. These days I have finished my mama duties, my 3 remaining puppies are up for adoption, and now it’s my turn to find a forever family of my own. I’m spayed, vaccinated, chipped, and ready to meet you!

I am a sweet girl with a medium energy level and an easygoing attitude. I’m friendly with people and other dogs, although I’m not very playful with my doggy friends, at least not yet. I’m more of a people dog, very loving, and would rather be with my people, snuggling beside you for pets and tummy rubs, playing with doggy toys, or just watching you work. I’m well-behaved, only bark to alert and I’m housebroken. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started! Inquire about me today and bring me home!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
