My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bandit (A136661) is a 2-year-old Karelian Bear Dog mix who weighed 47.5 pounds on intake!

11/19/24 This striking boy is Bandit! He was brought in initially as a stray, but later, it was confirmed that he was intended as a surrender. Bandit was known to be a bit of an escape artist, and his owner was having difficulties keeping him confined. Bandit was said to experience kennel frustration and could be mouthy at times. We encourage his next owner to work with a certified trainer to see what would work best for him. In general, he is a very happy boy, just looking for some guidance. He is a smart boy and with a little work could make an excellent companion. Bandit was stated to have previously broken his leg during an escapade and survived parvo virus as a puppy! He is one strong cookie! Hopefully, he can now live his best life! Keeping him both mentally and physically stimulated should help keep him satisfied and out of trouble! We do not know if Bandit is fully housebroken, but he has done well at the shelter keeping his kennel clean! Setting him up with a consistent schedule should help him adjust as he settles into his next home. If you are interested in meeting Bandit and feel that you could be the right fit for each other, please let us know!
