HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
---
- A polite, loving girl who likes to snuggle and give kisses
- Likes relaxing in bed with lots of pillows and blankets
- Walks nicely on a leash and enjoys sniffing lots of new things on walks - she'd walk and explore with you all day if she could!
- If she's not on a walk, her next favorite thing to do is cuddle up on the couch next to her people with a warm blanket
- Will snooze on her dog bed or on the couch during the day; tends to be pretty quiet unless she's alerting her family to a delivery truck
- Can be shy around new people at first but will be cuddling in no time if you let her approach at her own pace (bonus points if you have treats for her!)
- Knows sit and sleeps well in her kennel at night; has not had any accidents overnight
- Can get nervous around new things and sounds, like stairs and the sounds of garage doors
- Can be pretty stressed by young kids, so she's looking for a teens-and-up home right now
- Does best with slow introductions to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; may be happiest as the only dog in her new home (dog intro required)
- Arrived at the ARL after being hit by a car and spent time in our care recovering from her injuries
- The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
