My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Billie Joe, but my foster family calls me Baby Joe Applesauce because I'm the littlest sweetie in the house. I was a bottle baby that was given a a warm home and yummy food. I have grown up and am now seeking my furever home.

I'm super playful and really like playing with my cat and kitten friends... oh and the humans too. The dogs there I'm still not a big fan of, but I let them know with my "giant hiss.

I eat mostly dry food, but do love a scoop of canned each day. I am an expert on the litter box.

My fluffy fur will need some combing, because as you can see it's going to be a little long. I do most of the work keeping it clean.

I'd really love a home with a fun kitten or friendly cat so that I can grow up with a playmate. I've been told this will help me continue to learn good habits like the right way to play with the humans and keep me entertained while y'all are gone to work.

I am up to date on my shots, but will need more.

I am not big enough for my surgery so I am available as a foster to adopt or can be pre adopted. My foster mom can explain all that.

Submit Application

If you see an animal you would like to meet, complete our online application. You will receive an email with the next steps.

2.
Meet the Pet

Visit the facility where the animal is located. If in foster care, the foster will set up a time to meet with you.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

One of our adoption counselors will review the animal's medical history and walk you through the paperwork.

4.
Pay Fee

Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once the adoption process is complete, you can bring your furry friend home!

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.

San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.

Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
