Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sweet Ponderosa Sedona (aka Pondsy)!
Pondsy is truly one of a kind. This 9-month-old boy weighs around 45 lbs, and every inch of him is pure sweetness. While we think he might be a German Shepherd/Lab mix, what’s more important is his heart—he’s the kind of dog who will steal yours the moment you meet him. This special boy comes from a shelter overwhelmed with pups in need, and he’s one of the lucky ones who got a chance for a better life. Now, he’s hoping for a hero like you to give him the forever home he deserves.
Watch Ponderosa's video here:
Pondsy has this incredibly soft, jet-black coat that shines like the midnight sky. His big copper-brown eyes are full of gentle curiosity, and when he looks up at you, it’s impossible not to feel like you’re the center of his world. His floppy ears bounce with every step, and he’s a quiet, calm presence—whether he's curled up in the car, going for a walk, or meeting new friends. He’s one of those dogs who just makes everything a little brighter, and he leaves a little piece of his heart with everyone he meets.
What I love most about Pondsy is how gentle and easygoing he is. He’s such a good walker and loves car rides—he’ll happily hop in and just relax by your side. He’s not a barker, and his quiet nature makes him the perfect companion. No matter where you go, he’ll make friends—whether it’s people or other dogs, everyone loves Pondsy. He’s one of those pups who will fit right into your life, no matter your schedule.
At his core, Pondsy is a lovebug. He’s affectionate, loyal, and always ready to snuggle. But he's also got a curious, adventurous spirit. He’s looking for a family who can help him continue his journey with training, socialization, and all the puppy milestones that come with being this young. He’ll need a family who’s committed to crate training to help him grow into the wonderful adult dog he’s destined to be. And once he’s fully grown, you’ll have so many adventures ahead of you—whether it’s neighborhood walks, trail hikes, or just cozy nights at home.
Pondsy is the sweetest dog with the biggest heart. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle companion who will fill your days with joy and gratitude, Pondsy is the pup for you. He’s ready to bring his love into your home and start the next chapter of his life with a family that will adore him as much as he adores them.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? APPLY TODAY and become a hero for pets in need!
*Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport.
