Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Leo is a 4 year old doodle mix that came to us when his previous owner`s health prohibited them from keeping Leo. Leo is accustomed to living with other dogs, (he lived with three others), but he was noted to guard his favorite food and toys from them so it is suggested he be the only dog in his new home. Leo is used to living with kids who respect his space and things. He has not lived with a cat that we know of. Leo has generalized anxiety and fear of strangers and things he hasnt experienced yet. This means he will need plenty of Positive Reinforcement throughout his life to help build his confidence and decrease his fear of the world around him. Being a doodle mix, Leo will need consistent grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Leo is not a huge fan of having his face and paws touched/shaved, so talk to your vet about mild sedatives that Leo can take ahead of grooming appointments, (and vet visits, too!), to help make the experience less stressful for both Leo and the professional.
Leo has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and been examined by our vet. He was shaved when he came to us so his coat is a clean slate for his new family.
For more information on Leo or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. Also, be sure to check out our:
