Animal Profile: Griffey is an adorable, petite terrier mix who was rescued in San Bernardino, CA. His family was surrendering him to the shelter and when the shelter didn't have room to take him, they tried to let him loose in the parking lot. Luckily, a rescue volunteer was on-site and quickly jumped in to help him. He is estimated to be around 2 years old, under 10lbs, and is looking forward to a better life here in the PNW.
Foster Update: Griffey has the soul of an old dog and moves like one too. He's very quiet and would be a great apartment dog or good for retirees. He will reluctantly go for a walk if the weather isn't too cold or rainy and doesn't bark or pull or chase anything, we think his world was pretty small in his previous life. Griffey is very polite. He lets anyone pick him up (even if he doesn't actually want them too) so very gentle kind people are a must. The only thing he gets even moderately excited for is certain treats and the only time he wags his tail is when he sees other dogs, though he is selective about which ones he likes. But he would most likely do best in a home with a sweet well mannered dog who can remind him hes one too. His favorite activity is being held or napping on the couch. He's a great snuggler!
Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
