My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Gracie! I'm a bundle of energy, always ready to play. I love to chase after toys, leap into the air, and pounce on pretend prey. But don't let my energetic side fool you. I'm also a real softie. I love to curl up in a warm lap and purr away the hours. I'm a friendly and gentle soul, always ready to greet new people with a soft meow and a rub against their legs. I'm sweet, too, always ready to give and receive affection. I'm looking for a home where I can share my love and energy. Will you be my forever friend?

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
