My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Austin was brought in by their previous owner.

Why Austin might be the one for you:
Meet Sweet Austin, who was a shy guy but who has blossomed in his current foster home where his family describes him as a super playful goofy dog. At his foster home, Austin lives with another dog and likes having a buddy. He is happy to share his food and toys with the other dog. He has gotten the hang of potty training and likes going outside to do his business. He is excellent at being walked on a leash where he walks with a slack leash and seldom pulls. He'll do best with kids over 10 years old in a home that is quiet with people who will be patient while he makes himself at home. Austin's foster family describes Austin as being so loyal that he does not want to leave their side. If you want to meet Austin to see if he might be your new loyal companion, , call us at 619 299 7012 or email us at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org. and we will arrange for you and Austin to meet. Bring a leash because you may take Austin home to be your sidekick. Wouldn't that be fun? /p>

At SDHS:
Austin has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Austin is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
