My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet kitty Elvira was a stray on the streets, starving, scared and with a life threatening wound on her face from being attacked by another animal. Lucky for her she went into one of our traps and got into a foster home!

With lots of love and antibiotics she's as good as new! Now she needs her luck to continue to find her furever home!

Elvira has a beautiful, sleek black coat, like a mini panther. She is an absolute gem, though she can be shy at first with new people and new environments so she needs a patient and calm home that will let her blossom into the lovebug that she truly is.

Elvira gets along with some other kitties. She's still young and playful so she may like to be in a home with another young kitty friend but she also may be very happy being an only kitty and Queen of the castle demanding all of your undivided attention as she is super snuggly and affectionate once acclimated to her new home and humans. She has not been around dogs yet but with her temperament I think she would adjust just fine. Elvira will bring lots of love and joy to her forever home.

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
